Strategy Practice Lead (Data Analytics Consultancy)

Mango Solutions provide data science solutions, consulting, training and application development for some of the largest companies in the world helping them extract value and insight from data. Founded in 2002, the company is headquartered in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Mango currently employ around 70 people.

The world’s leading organisations understand that the use of data and insight to drive behaviours is key to staying ahead in todays competitive landscape. However, there is an absence of pragmatic, real-world advice available to guide these organisations towards successful data-driven initiatives. Mango have established and are growing a “Strategic Advice” Practice and are looking to recruit a Strategy Practice Lead.

Primary Duties


Each Practice Lead is considered the subject matter expert in their Practice Area. As such, the Practice Lead is expected to take the lead on defining the strategy for their Practice Area, including the range of relevant services provided by Mango, and the delivery and commercial engagement model for such services.


The Practice Lead works closely with the Marketing team at Mango to design effective campaigns and messaging to drive sales for their Practice Area. The Practice Lead is also involved in ensuring the Mango Sales team understand our offering in this area, and how our services should be positioned in the wider analytic market.


A Practice Lead is the primarily pre-sales resource for their practice area. As such, a Practice Lead is expected to support the sales team with a range of pre-sales activities. In that regard, a Practice Lead is a largely Customer-facing role and is comfortable participating in Customer meetings, writing proposals and representing Mango at internal and external events.

Delivery Approach and Materials

Practice Leads will be involved in defining the manner in which services relevant to their Practice Area are delivered, and for ensuring any relevant delivery materials are created, used and appropriately maintained.


A Practice Lead spends approximately 30%-40% of their time on billable work, delivering services that are core to their Practice Area.



You will have over 3 years experience applying your data science expertise in a commercial environment, and now you want to complement this with your great communication skills and passion for turning data into real- world insight. You will be comfortable providing advice and strategic consulting to company executives, with an appreciation of the impact of data-driven change on a modern business.

Candidates should be educated to degree level and have 3+ years experience working in a strategy consulting or corporate strategy environment. A good working knowledge of the role Data Science and Analytics can play in the transformation of a business is essential. Experience defining and owning professional service propositions is desirable.
